What is UV heatset?
Think of UV heatset like this:
- Glossy paper printing—like heatset web printing
- Green printing—This sort of printing is environmentally friendly. It produces no VOCs and requires no pollution-control measures.
How does UV heatset achieve these results?
UV ink is cured by light & heat rather than just heat (like heatset printing) or non-cured printing (like coldset printing). UV ink isn’t absorbed as deeply into the paper, which means that printing done in this manner is crisp and bright.
Why doesn’t everyone print UV?
Nebraska Printing Center was a pioneer of this new technology and has invested years in it’s development. UV printing requires different equipment & technical skills. Most printers have too much time & money invested in existing equipment to replace their ovens with UV dryers & learn a new technology.
